This little workhorse is known for its ability to reproduce the coveted JCM800 tones in a miniscule package. Numerous artists and bands such as ZZ Top used these as preamps via the line out to get that driven tone everyone seeks from its cranked big brothers. Modded to add a speaker out to hook up to bigger cabs, as well as added a toggle switch for a speaker defeat when using the line out/headphones port. Without the mod, the speaker would still be active, but with a flip of a switch, it can be used as a preamp/line out/headphones only unit.
Looking to pass her on to someone wanting that tone or filling out a collection. Willing to sell or trade for other music gear (guitars/amps/rackmount audio, pedals).
Details:
Date code June 18, 1985. 12w@8ohms, with the original Celestion G10D-25. She has been freshly serviced, with a full recap (main filters, decoupling filters, coupling filters, and roll-off filter). Pots are still working great, and almost no scratching or crackling to be heard. Both inputs and the line out work as expected. No tears in the tolex. Lower panel in the rear is included. Upper panel is nowhere to be found. The original paper grille cloth is faded, which is typical for the year, however there are no tears nor snags in the cloth. The handle is in great shape, and it is not loose, and the original plastic caps are still intact. The light in the original power switch still functions properly as well, which is a common failure in many of the amps its age.
